GEYA is a Chester County, PA youth recreational soccer league located in the Glenmoore & Eagle PA areas. We offer Spring and Fall Soccer for youths K-12 and a HIGH 5 Soccer Program for children with special needs.

Coach Registration & Background Check Info

Below is a list of things that need to be completed for volunteer coaches. Please make sure you complete the required background checks, concussion education and any other required check listed.

I'm a New GEYA Coach or
Haven't Coached for GEYA in a Few Years

I'm a Returning GEYA Coach
(within 1 calendar year)**

Steps to be approved as a coach for GEYA Soccer. Steps 2-4 can be done in parallel – there is no need to wait for one of the clearances before requesting another. 

  1. Register as a GEYA Soccer Coach (each season)
    1. Go to the Coach Registration portal here: https://leagueathletics.com/Registration/Default.asp?n=&org=WWM.GEYASOCCER.ORG
    2. Clearly indicate the division (age and boys/girls/coed).
    3. If you intend to coach in multiple divisions, use the comment field to indicate the additional divisions.
       
  2. Obtain PA Child Abuse clearance*
    (once every 60 months [5 years])
    1. Go to the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Portal here: https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home
    2. If necessary, create a new account.
    3. Log in and submit your information. 
    4. It can take up to 2 weeks for this clearance to be processed.
       
  3. Obtain PA Criminal History clearance* 
    (once every 60 months [5 years])
    1. Go to the Pennsylvania State Police PATCH portal here: https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp
    2. If necessary, create a new account.
    3. Log in and submit your information. 
    4. It can take up to 3 weeks for this clearance to be processed.
       
  4. If you have not been a resident of Pennsylvania for 10 years, obtain the FBI Clearance* 
    (once every 60 months [5 years])
    1. Go to the PA Department of Human Services FBI Clearance portal here: www.pa.cogentid.com
    2. Register for fingerprinting. At the dropdown "Reason Fingerprinted," select "23PACSA6344.2 DHS VOLUNTEER."
    3. There is a fee for fingerprinting ($25.75). Use the DHS (Department of Human Services) option.
    4. Choose a fingerprinting site.
    5. When you go to the fingerprinting site, be sure you take the required valid and unexpired identification with you. 
    6. It can take 4-6 weeks to receive this clearance.
       
  5. Scan/copy and submit the 2 or 3 clearances above to GEYA
    1. Email to  .
       
  6. After clearances have been received and submitted to GEYA, register at Eastern PA Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA)
    (once every fall/spring 12-month cycle)
    1. Go to www.EPYSA.org.

    2. Go to Membership Services-->Recreation League-->Online Registration-->Risk Management.

    3. Follow the prompts to register (this is Part I).

    4. Make sure you complete Part II so that you are linked to GEYA as a coach. Choose Glenmoore Eagle Youth Assn. as the organization, choose N/A as season, then choose your position.

    5. EPYSA's database runs fall to spring. So, if you register with EPYSA for the fall season, you're also registered for the spring season. However, if you register ONLY for the spring season, you'll have to register again for the fall season.

  7. Complete CDC Heads Up Concussion Education 
    (once every 12 months)
    1. Go to http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/HeadsUp/Training/index.html
    2. Complete the training module. This takes about 30 minutes.
    3. Before you leave the certificate screen, print it as a PDF or take a screenshot immediately, because once you leave the screen, the certificate is gone and you'll have to take the training again.
    4. Scan/copy the completion certificate and email to  .
       

*If you have obtained these clearances for other reasons within the last 60 months (5 years), such as volunteering at school, for scouts or as part of an employment application, you can use those same clearances for GEYA. Scan and email to  .

Steps to be approved as a coach for GEYA Soccer if you volunteered during the last season or the previous season:

  1. Register as a GEYA Soccer Coach (each season)

**Note: If your PA Child Abuse or PA Criminal History clearance is more than 60 months (5 years) old, you will have to resubmit and forward to GEYA before you are able to coach.
